PARTNERS
It has been many years since the Ohio Invasive Plants Council (OIPC) was officially incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit for the state of Ohio. Since 2005, OIPC has been growing and changing as it strives to meet a mission to: participate in statewide efforts to address the threats of invasive species to Ohio's ecosystems and economy by providing leadership and promoting stewardship, education, research, and information exchange. One of our major accomplishments last year was the formal assessment of invasiveness for the first set of non-native species, using the Ohio Invasive Plant Assessment Protocol.
We have been incredibly fortunate in receiving support from a variety of sources along the way. Without this support, OIPC likely would not have made it this far. Your organization or company has co-sponsored one of our research conferences or contributed in some way in the past. Thank you! I am contacting you today to ask for your support again.
Starting 2015 we are recognizing our ongoing financial and in-kind supporters on our website. This website has been significantly enhanced over the past year, and now includes information related to the Assessments, such as the Assessment Results, including the score sheets for each species, and the Schedule of Plants to be Assessed in the coming year. Our website is also kept current with information about research grants, upcoming events, links to resources on best management practices and non-invasive landscaping alternatives, legislative updates, and our quarterly newsletters.
We are featuring two pages of supporters’ logos and links, one for financial supporters and one for in-kind supporters. Each will include only those organizations and companies that have provided support in the past year, and we will ensure that each link is updated to go to the webpage the organization designates. The financial supporters’ page will include those organizations and companies which donated $100 or more. This contribution can be part of co-sponsorship of a research conference (our next one will be winter 2016), designated for support of student research, for assessments of non-native plants, or for workshops and other public outreach.
A donation form can be found HERE. Remember that OIPC is a 501(c)3, so any donation is tax-deductible.
For any further questions or comments please contact Dr. Steve Hovick at [email protected]
Please return any donation forms to the OIPC Treasurer:
